“We are so pleased our community came forward with donations to help keep Friday Backpack Program intact which means there are children who will not go hungry over the weekend.   Members of our community jumped into action after staff members met with local civic and community groups to discuss needs to meet the ongoing food security needs right here in our home town. Financial donations received  always go directly to supporting the programs that address food insecurities in our community by way of the Friday Backpack Program.

Donations are still needed and can be in the form of cash to buy the food or actual shelf-stable items. On the list are individual serving items such as Pop Tarts, cereals, breakfast and protein bars, crackers, macaroni & chees cups, apple sauce, raisin boxes, juice or milk boxes or any other items which small children can easily access.

Donations can be mailed to or left at the Hart Partners office, located in the Adult Learning Center at 110 Benson Street, Hartwell. For more information, please call, 706-376-7449.
